Stage of Bud:   Silver Tip approaching Green Tip at UVM HRC    [i.e. buds swollen and slightly open but green tissue not visible when look at the bud from the side]

Apple Scab Ascospore Maturity: Laboratory examination of apple scab pseudothecia (fruiting bodies) from leaves collected from the orchard floor under non-sprayed McIntosh trees at the UVM HRC indicated that development has not progressed beyond the beginnings of the formation of asci or sacs in which the ascospores will eventually differentiate. This seems to be in line with what also has been reported in Massachusetts. In the Hudson Valley, where they were at Half-Inch Green on 4/03, 2% maturity was reported.
