Fire Blight Alert:

The combination of the unusually warm weather we have had over the past week, the prediction of warm weather over the next 4-5 days, and the chance of showers during the warm weather add up to a higher than normal risk of fire blight infections in orchards where blossoms are open. In orchards with a history of fire blight, a streptomycin spray should be considered if we do get wet weather during bloom. See the 1998-1999 Apple Pest Management Guide for further details.
