Generic Fertilizer Chart

At this time of the year I get questions from growers regarding fertilizer materials and applications.  I have made a 'generic' fertilizer schedule that I use to give me an idea of what and when and how much fertilizer to apply.  If you use this table, please remember the following:

• Leaf and soil analysis are the best guides for determining the amount of fertilizer needed
  
• When leaf and/or soil analysis are missing, use your judgment and the orchard history to determine the amount of fertilizer to use
  
• Be careful with the amount of nitrogen you add.  Excessive nitrogen has a negative effect on fruit quality
