Workshop on Fruit Quality planned
Plans are being developed to have an all day workshop on fruit quality. The following are thoughts and ideas about the workshop. If you have any suggestions, please let me know, and I will try to incorporate them.
Date: Tentative dates are Wednesday, Dec 8 or Thursday, Dec. 9 with preference on the 9 because I do not teach on Thursdays.
Topics:
Pre-harvest factors affecting fruit quality such as light penetration into the canopy, mineral nutrition, diseases, etc.
Post-harvest factors affecting fruit quality such as cold storage conditions , short term CA, diseases, disorders, update on our fruit quality project, etc.
Speakers:
I will try to have two experts in the area of fruit quality. Right now, Dr. Bramblage from UMass has agreed to participate, we are working on the date.
Location:
Rutland appears to be the most central location.
Once I have more definite plans, I will send a complete program and registration form. Right now, please mark the tentative dates on your calendar so you will not miss this informative workshop.
