VTFGA Summer Tour

  During the February meeting of the Vermont Tree Fruit Growers Association board , the possibility of combining the summer orchard tour with the New York Champlain Valley group was discussed.  Kevin Iungerman has contacted me and stated that this will be possible.  Tentatively, the tpur  is schedule for either July 14 or 15 with visits to the Peru area orchards in the scheduled.  The exact details and itinerary for the tour have not been made.   I hope to have this information in June  newsletter.

Congratulations and farewell to Roger

Roger Brouillette will be graduating this Sunday.  Roger has been a member of the UVM Apple Team  for over two years.   Not only has he actively participated in apple research conducted at the HRC, where he has been involved in both horticultural and integrated pest management projects, he has worked closely with apple growers around the state making sure research projects occurring on their farms were running smoothly.  His orchard observations have been incorporated into the Vermont Apple Newsletter which is read throughout the apple industry and he has left "his mark"  at the HRC where he has helped plant a number of new orchards which will be producing apples for many years to come.

Roger is a valued member of the UVM Apple Team and his contributions and
friendship will be deeply missed.
